Android 11

The Android 11 developer preview was recently released. Lets go throught  about the standout features in this upcoming version to the Google platform.

Android 11 Developer Preview :

1. Behavior changes :

System changes that may affect your app when it's running on Android 11.

2. Privacy features :

New safeguards to protect user privacy that you'll need to support in your app.

3. New features & APIs :

APIs for 5G, sharing, connectivity, media, NNAPI, biometrics, and more.

Android 11's come with some interesting features:

1. Scheduled dark theme:

You can either set a custom time or have Android shift between dark and light mode based on sunrise/sunset times in your time zone.

2. Extended chat 'bubbles':

One of the new features of Android 10 was the introduction of chat 'bubbles', similar to Facebook Messenger, laid over the top of other apps, that let you see all your conversations over several apps all in one easy-to-access format.

Not all apps are compatible though, and while some of those that you use to message people, there are many that aren't, with only the main text app Messages, and Google Hangouts, compatible. That means if you want to have conversations over various apps, for the most part you're still going to be using those apps.

3. One-Time permission:

Users will be able to grant an app permission to use location access once. There's no indication if this permission request will happen every time you open the app, or if it's a one-and-done option, which means you would have to re-install the app to give it location access.

4. Screen Recording (By default added):

In order to capture screen recordings on Android, I've had to use a third-party tool.

this time the developers will leave the feature in, so users can take video screen grabs of their devices to share with others.

5. Motion Sense Gesture:

This feature will only be on the Pixel line of devices, at least in the beginning. The feature allows you to pause/play with a Motion Sense gesture. So while listening to music, you could gesture with your device to pause or play the current tune.

6. Share Menu Pinning:

With Android 11, you'll finally be able to pin apps and shortcuts to the Share Menu. This feature briefly appeared in the Android 10 build cycle but never made it to final release. Hopefully, this time around the feature will remain.

Hope its will help to increase your knowledge. Please write your experience in commect section.
